A chance to connect with each other, share news and enjoy the growing space. There is much to do. We’ll weed, mulch and continue to open up and develop new spaces! Open to All / over 55s particularly welcome.

We haven’t visited here for a few months so this will be a great opportunity to ready the orchard for its annual prune in the New Year. Please join us - we have plenty to do.

We’ll be joining The Evergreens group here to carry out some fruit tree pruning on the site. Open to All. Learn new skills and afterwards there is usually the opportunity to share in a community lunch.

We will be continuing clearing new growing spaces, keeping areas weed-free, mulching and more! There is always a good mix of lighter work and heavier work to get involved with. Afterwards, we have been invited to Apna Ghar Christmas Party.

We will have a short session here to ensure that the garden is well cared for as we move into the deepest part of the winter.
- Fri, 13 DecSelly Park13 Dec 2024, 13:00 – 16:00Selly Park , off Kitchener Road, Selly Park, B29 7QD1 pm to 4 pm @ Pebble Mill Playing Fields Forest Garden, weeding beds, defining bed edges, shearing paths and generally keeping the site in good condition. The plants are growing much more slowly than earlier in the year but we still need a lot of help to keep the plants under control. Open to all.
- Sat, 14 DecStirchley14 Dec 2024, 10:00 – 14:00Stirchley , Hazelwell Rd, Stirchley, Birmingham B30 2PG, UK10 am to 2 pm @ Kingdom Forest Garden. Winter Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop. We now have 50 trees down in this forest garden and they are a range of ages. This allows us to learn pruning techniques from different aged trees. A great place to learn and meet up. Wear a santa hat, if you have one!

Join us today to “harvest” this year’s collection of small bushes grown from cuttings last winter, and then help us to start some more cuttings growing. If we have any additional time, we have an area of land to clear to expand the forest garden area.

In preparation of the pruning work we’ll carry out here in the New Year, join us to ensure the trees are all easily accessible. We will be cutting back brambles and other plant growth.

Join us to weed, mulch and take general good care of the trees here.

We’ll be continuing to work here over the winter, bringing wildlife and love to this beautiful corner of Druids Heath. Open to all, but over 55s (wearing Santa hats) especially welcome.
